Only the place where the sun is shining will there be shadows. In this time when truths and lies are hard to distinguish, we are living in this world where light and dark are mutually in coexistence. Light places are not necessarily safe from being swallowed by the influence of dark powers. As for those chaotic confused places, those are the places where the roots of light are most strong. Pi Zi and Ying Xiong is a story about light and dark. They are a pair of police officers who are constantly fighting against the dark and at the same time, trying to illuminate the light. Breaking away from the somber methods of the traditional officers and criminals; using light to quickly make a statement and build a presence in this city; take all the darkness and hide it behind the light and brilliance. Waiting for these two small officers to depend on the small bit of justice within their hearts, to maintain this city’s happy and bright morning. Because of a certain objective, Pi Zi is transformed from a street corner thug into a police officer who lives his days by dodging bullets and acting on dull intuitions. Using a famous car and living in a mansion that is not suitable for his status, a large sum of money is also automatically deposited into his bank account every month. When he is stuck on a case, he would go to the convenience store at the corner of the street and buy a cup of coffee and sit around. Clues and whereabouts of the criminal would then automatically be delivered to him. He doesn’t need to do much but his rate of solving cases is extremely high… He understands that this is an “additional prerequisite” for him becoming a police officer. If he doesn’t become a police officer, then everything that he possesses will vanish without a trace. He can’t explain any of this to anyone and even he is a bit baffled by all of this. Slowly, he really starts to believe that he is a police officer and moreover, he is one of a kind. Ying Xiong, under his foster parents’ teachings, he has believed since childhood that justice and law are the main forces that construct the world. However, because his fighting skill is too good and too energetic when solving a case, each time that he chases after a criminal, he would carelessly end up causing car accidents, jumping off buildings and hurting others. He is absolutely a good police officer but because he is overly energetic, he is always writing never ending reports. His rate of solving cases is extremely high but his impulsive nature is a big headache for his superiors. To this world, he is a true hero but everyone knows him as a lunatic who goes all out regardless of his life. Pi Zi and Ying Xiong’s ridiculous first meeting is during a police officer and criminal chase. When their guns are closely aimed at each other, this represents their fated future of being close and yet contradictory. During their second meeting inside the South District Bureau Office, Ying Xiong leaves behind some harsh words. Not only is he not willing to work as a partner to solve cases with Pi Zi but Ying Xiong also said: “I give you one week to disappear from my eyes.” This South District office possesses the best equipment in the city but it is also a part of the city where criminals are extremely fond of hiding out. The chief of this district office dreams of getting a promotion every day. Leader Chen, who enjoys being in the spotlight; Lao Li, a steady senior officer of few words; Hao Ke, an expert computer hacker; Xiao Lu, a female officer who worships Ying Xiong’s braveness; and the most special thing is that, they have Lan Xi Ying, a beautiful and intelligent criminal forensics specialist who spends all her days in the company of dead bodies and human bones. This is an eventful filled spring season. First it was the army of North Korea secretly transporting narcotics and is being investigated by the South District office. Then it was the region’s bank which had its entire safe deposit section robbed and with the death of one of its staff members. Lei Mu Sha, a female Interpol officer, who knows six languages, has special characteristics and the body of an angel, joins in the investigation and totally disrupts Pi Zi and Ying Xiong’s rhythm in handling a case. All of these incidents happen after Pi Zi is transferred over to the South District office and becomes partners with Ying Xiong. During this whole spring, Pi Zi and Ying Xiong are like black sheep. No matter where they go, disaster would follow right behind them. Outside the police stations, the most important force that maintains the whole city is none other than the organized crime association, San Lian Hui. They use their own methods to govern an underground society that doesn’t differentiate between right or wrong. Of course, firearms, smuggling, gambling, loan sharks are all within the scope of San Lian Hui’s business. As for the boss of San Lian Hui, whom people call Lao Tou, actually has a very long and profound friendship with the present President. Lao Tou’s daughter, Chen Lin, is a pretty girl who looks like a beautiful china doll but she also has three years of Judo skills. She is not arrogant but she is a very fierce character. Pi Zi, having been thrown to the ground during their first meeting by Chen Lin, captures her heart. There are many reasons why Pi Zi would avoid Chen Lin’s feelings. However, the honest and serious Ying Xiong falls in love with her and did not need any reasons at all. Pi Zi and Ying Xiong, these two detectives, who often step onto each other’s toes, hence carelessly open the door that leads to Heaven. This door combines justice and evil together. Tremendous power and money flows between this door. And behind this door is hidden a hand which is summoning them toward destruction. From the moment that they met, everything is tightly bound to the secrets that are related to them. In this densely fogged up city, it has been a long time since any one has seen a clear sky. When police officers are not just police officers, when organized crime associations are not just organized crime associations, the good and the bad, the fake and the real, you can continue to believe what you choose.
