Ru Han’s birth was not an event that was anticipated.  Her birth burdens her mother’s resentment and was born because of revenge.  Ru Han doesn’t know that her birth mother has left this world on the day that she was born.  By the time when Ru Han gradually grows up, only then did she finally understand.  In this family, she will never be able to wear new clothes, new shoes, and will never be able to have a place where she will belong.  Her existence is the biggest shame to this family.

Xu Yang has been a carefree and friendly boy since he was young.  He always has a warm and gentle smile on his face.  However, this smiling boy has a background that is astonishing to others.  Xu Yang is the first person who has cause Ru Han to speak out loud.  However, at this time, Xu Yang finds out about his own identity.  It turns out that he is the Ou family’s true successor and always treating him with graciousness, Ou Yong Hao, is actually his enemy who murdered his family years ago!

Zi Qian is a person who has principle and who takes on responsibilities.  As long as he believes it is right, then he would not care about other people’s judgment and go ahead with what he believes.  Ru Han and Ru Yan, this pair of sisters, one is always passing by Zi Qian and the other is always trying to set up traps to try to snare him to become her own.  In the end, because of responsibility, the straightforward Zi Qian marries the pregnant Ru Yan.  After the marriage, Zi Qian and Ru Yan’s differences gradually surface and Zi Qian often wonders if this kind of marriage was actually the right decision.

Ru Yan has liked Zi Qian since she was young.  However, her sister from the same father but different mother, Ru Han, has always occupied all of Zi Qian’s vision.  As a result, she thinks of everything she can to break up these two people.  Everything seems to be going according to Ru Yan’s plans but Ru Yan is not certain what exactly it is that she wants.  Does she want Zi Qian?  Or is it that everything that Ru Han possesses, she wants to snatch it away?  A marriage without any foundation of feelings is bound to be a tragedy.  What it has is just unlimited torment and suffering… 

(portrayed by Chris Long Chen Han) – 25 years old. 

Born from a rich family, it is unavoidable that Zhi Zhong would have the arrogant air as most rich guys.  Yet on the other hand, he doesn’t want to be a guy who doesn’t do anything.  He has an exuberant amount of ideas and wants to get his hands on the management of Ou Fu Enterprise.  Zhi Zhong is very confident that he will be able to inherit Ou Fu Enterprise and only waits for the day when his father would turn over the power to him.  Unfortunately, Xu Yang’s outstanding performance prohibited him from his beautiful dream of taking over the company early.

(portrayed by Xia Yu Qiao) – 24 years old. 

Beautiful and lively, she has a kind heart.  Ever since she is a child, she has liked hanging out with her elder brother and Xu Yang also takes very good care of this younger sister.  He never refuses any demands that Xi Ling makes.  Xi Ling knows that Xu Yang is not her real brother and that he has no blood relations with her in any way which is why she expectedly falls in love with him.  However, Xu Yang’s heart already has Ru Han.  As a result, he gently turns down Xi Ling’s love.  This is the first time that Xu Yang has ever rejected Xi Ling of anything.  He loves her but only in the sense of a brother loving a sister.

With his own bare hands and his skills, he built and created Ou Fu Enterprise.  He is fair in giving rewards and punishments when it is deserved.  He considers the matter in and of itself and doesn’t allow emotions and relationships to get in the way.  He always causes people to feel that he is a ruthless and cold-blooded person.  Many years ago, he committed the murder of a family, stole his foster father’s glass factory and doesn’t have any regrets or guilt.  This is because, he established this enterprise himself and there is no justification that his foster father’s son should be able to inherit the company simply based on the fact that they are blood related.  Only when one has worked for something will one be able to get something and this is what Yong Hao believes in.

Yue Mei is the only child in her family and she has been pampered by her parents since she was young.  Who knew that this spoiled girl would be forced to face her husband’s unfaithfulness on their wedding day.  Her husband’s lover uses death as a revenge.  Blood splashes across the wedding banquet and left behind is a baby girl that she has no choice but to accept.  As a result, anything that is related to Ru Han, Yue Mei is determined to destroy.  This act gradually forces everyone down a path of no return and it also forces herself to the end of the road.

People often have to make many decisions.  Faced with the dilemma of choosing between love and career, Shi Fang chooses the latter.  When he chose to keep his daughter Ru Han in the Song family, Ru Han’s life is doomed from the moment that she is born.  Regarding this, Shi Fang’s heart is actually filled with pain and he is constantly tormented.  However, faced with his wife, Yue Mei’s, aggressive attitude, Shi Fang’s coward nature could only watch as Ru Han gets bullied and humiliated and there’s nothing he can do to help.

Within Ou Fu Enterprise, there isn’t anyone who hasn’t heard or know who Chen Jie is.  New employees must pass her examination before they would be able to step foot into the company.  With regards to such a “tigress,” everyone has to give her some respect.  Chen Jie is always giving Ru Han a hard time.  From the eyes of the bystanders, it seems as if Chen Jie has found a target for her to vent on.  Actually it turns out that Chen Jie is doing this all out of love for Ru Han because on Ru Han, Chen Jie seems to find a shadow of how she used to be like 20 years ago.

Ou Yong Hao’s assistant and has been following Yong Hao by his side and working with him since he was young.  Whether is it killing, setting fires, following people, investigating things, Ah Liu would handle everything cleanly and with ease.  He would not leave any clues behind and he has never declined any job.  However, Ou Yong Hao never in a million years would imagine that all these years of promoting Ah Liu would one day make him into a thorn that will be impossible to pull out of his side.  In Ah Liu’s heart, a scheme to make a name for himself is silently brewing…
