(portrayed by Ken Chu) - When Bin Fei was young, he accidentally came across an award winning picture called "Rebirth" at the art gallery.  The picture that was captured within this frame was of a little girl setting free a peacock and seeing it brought a big shock to Bin Fei which no words could be used to express.  After 20 years, he still hasn't grasped the broad essence of photography but he is a photojournalist that is dependant on his camera for life.  Bin Fei's dream is to go aboard and continue to study photography.  During the journey to pursue his dream, he meets a happy girl, Ruo Ning.  Ruo Ning is graceful and elegant.  At Ruo Ning's side, Bin Fei feels calm and peaceful.  However, a startling news event in Beijing caused Ruo Ning's decision to leave Bin Fei and join an expedition.  Bin Fei goes to Tokyo, the place where they promised to pursue their dream, all by himself.  He thought that Ruo Ning would forgive himself and come to Tokyo to see him.  However, he waited for a whole year and there have been no news of Ruo Ning.  After Bin Fei's studies ended in Tokyo, he returned to Beijing.  His photography has made a great reputation for itself throughout the international field, yet Bin Fei has completely changed.  He has become cold and indifferent to everything.  By chance, Bin Fei accepted a photographic topic and he decided to go to Xishuangbanna to see the hometown of the picture "Rebirth."  He also wanted to see Ruo Ning, who he misses, and see if she is really working with the Expedition there.  Bin Fei arrives at Xishuangbanna but did not find Ruo Ning.  But he found a bright, glittering smile that surpasses anything else that was within the four-cornered frame… 

(portrayed by Li Bing Bing) - Yu Bo Han's father is a police officer and he pledges his life to guard the rainforest.  The year when Yu Bo Han was 10 years old, her father died in the rainforest under the hands of hunters.  This shock not only did not turn Yu Bo Han into a depressed child, but on the contrary, it aroused her enthusiasm, courage and righteousness.  The people in the village are already used to Yu Bo Han's different nature:  When a woman is supposed to be afraid of something and running away, Yu Bo Han would be the first one to run upfront and confront the situation; When all the girls are practicing the gracefulness of the peacock dance, all she can think about is the legendary immortal medicine "unweeping grass" and to guard this green piece of land forever.  Later, Yu Bo Han was adopted by the village chief, Ah Pu Da.  Ah Pu Da only has one son, Yan Hu.  Within Ah Pu Da's heart, Yu Bo Han would be married to Yan Hu sooner or later.  The three of them will never be separated.  Until a madman comes into the village, pointed at Yu Bo Han and shouted "Ruo Ning!"  Bin Fei's talent, Bin Fei's deep affections, caused Yu Bo Han to develop a favorable impression towards this madman which she wasn't able to ignore.  She suddenly discovers who the real person she loves in her heart is.  Faced with Yan Hu's feelings and Bin Fei's deep affection, Yu Bo Han once again feels anxious and confused…

(portrayed by Michelle Saram) - Xia Rui is in complete agreement with the statement, "Resort to any and all means to reach your goal."  As a result, Xia Rui is a very swift person:  She works quickly, moves quickly, even her brain turns quickly.  Xia Rui is also a person who makes others happy because her face is always filled with a smile that can make one let their guard down.  From the first moment that she sees Bin Fei, Xia Rui has a special feeling towards him.  However, at the time, Bin Fei has Ruo Ning by his side.  Therefore, even if everyone else understands, but Xia Rui still has difficulty expressing her feelings.  Until Bin Fei returns to the country after studying aboard in Japan and has lost contact with Ruo Ning that's when Xia Rui starts to get close to Bin Fei.  However, Xia Rui is not hasty about their relationship at all because she believes, as long as Bin Fei accepts her good, then sooner or later he will come to accept her.  As a result, they get closer and closer.  Who would've thought that Ruo Ning seems to have been resurrected and appears between them again.  What's even worse, she's not even Xiao Ruo Ning.  Her name is Yu Bo Han.  In this world, there are two Xiao Ruo Ning!

(portrayed by Rainie Yang) - She is like her name.  Bin Yan is exactly like a swallow, bouncing around and lively all day long.  However, her personality is careless and she has asthma too.  She is always making Bin Fei worry over her.  Every day, she is bound to get into some kind of trouble or ruin something.  It is also especially easy to move Bin Yan's heart which makes her especially easy to fall in love.  She doesn't have much patience, so it is especially easy for her to get her heart broken too!  Each time that she falls in love, she would say that this is the time when it is for real!  Yet within 3 months, she will meet her next "real love."

(portrayed by Jin Dong) - Duan Ye's son, Duan Peng, did not inherit his father's compassionate and good nature.  Yet, he has inherited his father's dark side.  For his own interest and benefit, he would resort to doing anything.  Within the eyes' of the villagers, he is someone that everyone respects and loves.  He is an entrepreneur that can bring progress and wealth to the village.  Yet, within his own eyes, all his popularity and glory is done to show one woman - Xia Rui.  She is probably the only weakness within his cunning and strong personality!  Duan Peng is the only witness that knows Duan Ye is the one who killed Yu Bo Han's father! 

(portrayed by An Hu) - Yan Hu is considered the "good son" in all of the villagers' hearts.  He is the leader of the local expedition, educated, knowledgeable, and has a very polite and friendly manner.  As a result, most of the young females in the village want to marry Yan Hu and the older females would hope that they can give birth to a son like Yan Hu.  However, in Yu Bo Han's eyes, Yan Hu doesn't have any temper.  When he does things, he has to take everything else into consideration and he has a soft heart.  Therefore, Yan Hu's cultured and refined personality, compared with Yu Bo Han's enthusiastic and lively personality, is just like an afternoon after a rainy day - simply boring.  Yan Hu feels tedious also.  He can't seem to gather his courage to confess his feelings to Yu Bo Han.  Each time he hesitates, an opportunity passes by.  A photographer arrives at the village, talented and easy-going.  Yan Hu watches as Yu Bo Han's heart slowly turns toward Lu Bin Fei.  Yan Hu starts to worry but there is nothing he can say.  Besides from having a relationship crisis, what's even more unexpected is that when Yan Hu accepted his good friend, Duan Peng's suggestion to actively develop the village's sightseeing business, it would simultaneously attract the attention of more hunters to this fertile land.  What Yan Hu couldn't believe is his good friend's betrayal!  The arrival of these sudden shocks and surprises caused Yan Hu to decide to stand up to his love rival, Lu Bin Fei and his own good friend, Duan Peng.  For the safety of the rainforest, he will fight to the end!  From this, Yu Bo Han realizes that Yan Hu is not the afternoon after a rainy day; he is the village's daybreak!

(portrayed by Zhang Hao Tian) - Bao Xiong is a completely optimistic person.  As a result, he is very lively in everything that he does.  In order to change the teahouse that he manages, he blindingly accepted Bin Fei and Bin Yan to his shop.  From then on, Bin Yan comes into his life and arguing with Bin Yan becomes one of the many favorable past times for him.  During the time when Bin Fei was wrongly accused and sent to jail, Bao Xiong continues to support Bin Yan.  Bao Xiong, who has a careless personality, slowly discovers that he seems to have fallen in love.  As for the person who he is in love with, it turns out to be Bin Yan who has never looked upon him favorably! 

(portrayed by Ai Jun Mai) - There is no one whom Duan Ye doesn't know in Xishuangbanna.  Everyone knows that many years ago, a penniless Duan Ye spent a short and happy time of his life at Xishuangbanna.  After he left Banna, he built his fortune by engaging in the tea leaf business and now he has become a rich entrepreneur.  Everyone also knows that he has helped out numerous teenagers in Xishuangbanna, in addition to providing money and strength to help protect Banna's rainforest.  In short, Duan Ye is a great benefactor in everyone's heart, a living God.  What everyone doesn't know is that Duan Ye has a secret that no one knows about - he is the hunter who killed Yu Bo Han's father many years ago! 

(portrayed by Xu Li) - Yi Nuo is Yi Xiang's younger sister and have depended on each other since they were young.  Yi Nuo, who has a lively personality, has been good at dancing since she was a child.  In each of the village's important celebrations, she would always be the main character in the peacock dance.  She has had a secret crush on Duan Peng for a long time, but who knew that Duan Peng isn't really the warm and kind-hearted person that she imagined he would be.  As a result, she gradually falls into Duan Peng's trap.  After being hurt, she started a tragic and miserable life… 

(portrayed by Xi Li Bo Xiang) - Yi Xiang has taken over the duty of being a mother to Yi Nuo and taking care of her.  They depended on each other since they were young and at the same time, are both good friends with Yu Bo Han.  Yi Xiang has a gentle personality, virtuous and dutiful and attentive.  She is often worrying about Yi Nuo and Yu Bo Han.  Since she has a high interest in medicine, she inherited her family's Chinese medicine business.  When there is free time, she would use the mortar to pound the medicines, do some research with the medicine books, and help patients with their check ups.  As a result, whenever there is someone within the village that is sick, she would be the first person that comes to mind.  After she finds out about Yi Nuo's incident, Yi Xiang's personality became bitter.  She swears that she will get revenge on the person that has harmed Yi Nuo!

(portrayed by Chen You Wang) - He is the village chief of Xishuangbanna and also the father of Yan Hu.  After Yu Bo Han's father passed away, he has continuously looked after Yu Bo Han as if she is his own daughter.  He has an enthusiastic personality and doesn't mind being troubled.  He has a soft heart and has given all that he has into Xishuangbanna.  As a result, he loves everyone within Xishuangbanna and even loves those outsiders who do good things for Xishuangbanna.  Aside from the matters relating to Xishuangbanna, his biggest wish is to be able to see Yan Hu and Yu Bo Han get married.

(portrayed by Chen Wang Lin) - Ah Mo acquired his name from his silent and unspoken nature.  His specialty is not only in his silence, but what makes everyone troubled is that he is a totally useless person within the newspaper office.  When he is asked to take pictures, he refuses to take pictures of people.  However, Bin Fei and Ah Mo get along together very well.  Bin Fei can never forget the help that Ah Mo has given him.  As a result, when Bin Fei received the file for the Xishuangbanna case, the first person that he thinks of is Ah Mo and Ah Mo immediately agrees to help him!

(portrayed by Li Wei) - The spirit that Zhang Cheng has when it comes to getting a piece of news, is that he would even give up his own family.  One really doesn't know if they should admire him or condemn him for his attitude.  When Bin Fei was in desperate need for money to go aboard to study in Japan, Zhang Cheng asked Xia Rui for an exclusive story.  The original idea was to help Bin Fei, but it created a misunderstanding between Bin Fei and Ruo Ning.  Even though that is the case, Zhang Cheng still needs to get that exclusive story even if his conscience is guilty!
