Jiang Xiao Hua

(portrayed by Rainie Yang) – 24 years old.

            Looks like a modern time young girl.  She loves to adorn herself with all sorts of glittering accessories and wishes nothing more than to wear all the colors onto herself.  She doesn’t care one bit if it matches or not!  In the eyes of someone who has a fashion sense, this type of taste is a horrible scene that is too much to endure.  It is the absolute limit of tastelessness but Xiao Hua believes that those people just don’t have good judgment!

            She helps out at her family’s accessories shop and since childhood has been living with her father and grandmother.  She believes that her mother is deceased but actually doesn’t know that her father’s not her biological father!  Her biological mother was an unwed mother who gave birth to her and then handed her over to Da Shu before disappearing…  Her father and grandmother doesn’t know how to explain this to Xiao Hua and so simply decided to lie to her and say that her mother has passed away…

            Although she doesn’t have a mother, but Xiao Hua still lives optimistically and confidently!  She, who loves to tell jokes, never settles down.  Her brain seems to be filled with a database of jokes and will tell a joke at any time to make someone happy!

            Xiao Hua, who has always been very confident in her own taste and looks, actually feels self-conscious in front of her elementary school classmate, Jia Si Le.  In order to make herself worthy of this prince that is in front of her, she goes to the sharp-tongued fashion stylist, Tang Men and asks him to help her transform!

 

Tang Men

(portrayed as Will Pan) – 26 years old.

            A famous fashion stylist who has superior fashion taste.  He specifically helps celebrities with their styles and images.  He’s confident, arrogant, annoying and sharp-tongued.  Aside from Jia Si Le, there is actually no one else who can get along with him.  In his life, he detests anything that is not beautiful.  Never in a million years would he imagine that he would meet a tasteless girl and even gets threatened by her and wants him to change her appearance!?

            Although he is the one that is changing Xiao Hua but he never expected that he would be influenced by her in the process too.  He is not a bad person and gradually discovers that Xiao Hua has her good points.  However, it’s just that he is naturally born with a sharp tongue.  He obviously wants to say something good from his heart but when he opens his mouth, what comes out is completely different and gets into conflicts with Xiao Hua over and over again.

            He knows that the reason behind Xiao Hua wanting to change is so that she can marry into a rich family but he didn’t expect that this rich family is his best friend, Jia Si Le!  An immense struggle wells up within Tang Men’s heart!  For the sake of his friendship with Jia Si Le, he should reveal the truth.  Yet, he and Xiao Hua have made a bet and he can’t expose this truth to anyone!

            What’s even more tragic is that no matter how unwilling Tang Men is, he has no choice but to face the fact that – he has fallen in love with Xiao Hua!?  This girl who has the poorest taste in the whole world!?  Oh my God – this can’t be?

 

Jia Si Le

(portrayed by Dean Fujioka) – 24 years old.

            Xiao Hua’s elementary classmate.  Although he comes from a rich family, but he was fat, ugly and dumb when he was a kid.  He was always being bullied by the boys from the other classes.  There are always tears on his face and he always depends on the righteous Xiao Hua to come to his rescue and tell jokes to cheer him up.  Since then, Jia Le Si has always liked to follow Xiao Hua around and tells her to tell him jokes all day long!  “When I grow up, I must marry you!”  The small Jia Le Si makes a promise to Xiao Hua for the future but Xiao Hua regards it only as a joke.

            After graduating from elementary school, he went to Japan with his parents.  Twelve years later, he returns to take over the family’s business.  As a result, he has a Japanese accent when he talks and his Chinese is not that good.  When he returns to the country and appears in front of Xiao Hua, she couldn’t help being shocked!  This tall and handsome Prince is Jia Si Le?  And he keeps on saying that he will marry her!?  Xiao Hua doesn’t believe it at all…  “Are you the one joking around now?”

 

Jiang Mi

(portrayed by Michelle Chen Yan Xi) – 22 years old.

            Rather than saying that she is beautiful, it would be better to say that her qualities are even more appealing.  Confident, generous and quiet; she is able to allow someone to feel the power of peace.  This is her unspoken and charming attraction!

            Her family and the Jia family have been friends for many generations.  She and Jia Si Le are also childhood friends.  As a result, when her parents move overseas to expand their business, they would naturally be at ease in leaving her behind to live with the Jia family.  Besides, Jia Si Le’s mother has always liked her and treats her as a daughter-in-law.  As such, when Jia Si Le announces that he likes Xiao Hua, Jiang Mi still believes that in the end, Jia Si Le would certainly belong to her…

            Because of Jia Si Le, Jiang Mi gets acquainted with Tang Men and she clearly understands that Tang Men had fallen in love with her at first sight.  She understands that Jia Si Le deliberately arranges a date for herself and Tang Men but she still takes advantage of this chance to get close to Tang Men.  In actuality, she just wants to see what Jia Si Le’s reaction would be.  In the end, she finds out that Tang Men has fallen in love with Xiao Hua and so she wants Tang Men to help her…

 

Jiang Da Shu

(portrayed by Jian Chang) – 48 years old.

            Xiao Hua’s father.  He is a good person with a very soft heart.  He can easily lend other people money and can easily cry when watching TV.  Originally, his business is really good, but because he is always treating guests out to dinner or letting other people owe him debt, whatever business he is in would fail.

            He wants to be an actor but he is always just a standby.  Even though he has only 1 or 2 sentences in the script, but it is enough to make him extremely happy.  However, there is a huge secret hidden within his heart and that is “Xiao Hua is not his daughter!”

            It turns out that he was willing to raise Xiao Hua because he likes Xiao Hua’s mother – Ya An.  When she was dumped by her boyfriend and gave birth to Xiao Hua, he was willing to take care of them.  However, Xiao Hua mother’s only regards him as a good friend.  After Ya An entrusted Xiao Hua with this good family, she disappeared without a trace.  Because of his devotion, he personally raises Xiao Hua.  Later, because he is afraid that a stepmother would mistreat Xiao Hua and so he decided to remain unmarried for the rest of his life.

 

Ah Ba Shen

(portrayed by Wen Ying) – 65 years old.

            Xiao Hua’s grandmother.  Simply known as “the old Xiao Hua.”  Although Ah Ba Shen is old, but like Xiao Hua, she also likes anything that glitters.  Many years ago, when Da Shu brings Xiao Hua back home, who has no blood relation to him at all and also, decides to remain unmarried for the rest of his life because of her, Ah Ba Shen was extremely unhappy.  Later, she felt that Xiao Hua is really very cute and loves her as dearly as if she is truly Da Shu’s daughter.

            She is very thrifty and stingy.  She stays home all day making handcrafts to sell at the accessories shop.  Her biggest wish is to buy a piece of land on the countryside and live a simple life of raising chickens and ducks.  As a result, Xiao Hua would often sing, “Mrs. Jiang had a farm, E-I-E-I-O…”

            The grandmother and granddaughter’s relationship is very good.  She loves Xiao Hua dearly and always comforts her when she is down.  Xiao Hua is also very filial and looks forward to the day when she can buy a piece of land for Grandma.

 

Jia Mu / Ya An

(portrayed by Xi Man Ning) – 48 years old.

            Jia Si Le’s mother but is actually his stepmother.  She is a beauty, but her sharp eyes and cold looks is enough to make one tremble with fear!

            Being the person in charge at the Jia Corporation, she actually has a past that no one knows about.  Her unbearable relationship many years ago makes her unable to trust anyone.  As a result, she is extremely discontented with regards to Jia Si Le wanting to marry Xiao Hua, who comes from a poor family background.  She thinks of all ways possible to make Xiao Hua give up.  That is, until she finds out that Xiao Hua is actually…

Grandma Jia

(portrayed by Tang Qi) -

            Jia Mu (Ya An)’s mother.  Although she has no blood relationship with Jia Si Le but she still wants to see him get married while she is still alive.

Dou Zi

(portrayed by Jay Shih Yuan Jie) – 24 years old.

            Male, Xiao Hua’s elementary classmate and good friend.  He works at a restaurant that sells beverages and chicken steak and would often deliver take-outs to Xiao Hua.  His personality is basically a male version of Xiao Hua.  He also often gets bullied by Xiao Hua and JoJo.

JoJo

(portrayed by Xiao Call) – 24 years old.

            Female, Xiao Hua’s elementary classmate and good friend.  She works at a bank.  Energetic, loves to dress up and into Taiwanese girls’ fashions.  Her taste and style of dress is the same as Xiao Hua’s but each believes that they are more beautiful than the other.  Although they often argue with each other, but their relationship resembles that of a pair of good sisters.

Lai Rui Ke

(portrayed by Denny Huang Bo Jun) – 25 years old.

            Male, Tang Men’s assistant.  He’s tall, handsome and humorous.  He is a smart-ass yet he is very scared of Tang Men.  He is Tang Men’s helper and translator.  Sometimes he would also play the role of trying to push Tang Men and Xiao Hua together.

Ji Nuo

(portrayed by Pang Yun Hui) – 26 years old.

            Male, fashion stylist.  In order to win, he will use all kinds of efforts and resort to any means.  His work manner and ideas are completely different than Tang Men’s.  He uses gentle words with women all for the purpose of earning their money.  As for Tang Men, although he has a sharp tongue, but what he says are actually very useful suggestions.

Father Tang & Mother Tang

(portrayed by Pang Xiang Lin & Jin Yu Lan) – 50 years old.

            Tang Men’s father and mother.  Father Tang is a famous and great surgeon.  Because Tang Men is not willing to study medicine like his father, a wedge is driven between father and son’s relationship.  In the end, it is Xiao Hua who helped to mend their relationship together.  Mother Tang is a modest and gentle loving mother.  She was extremely heartbroken over Tang Men leaving home and could do nothing with regards to her husband’s stubbornness.  For many years, all she wishes for is to see the day when father and son can reconcile.
