            Female, 18 years old.  Has a positive and optimistic personality, filled with energy, great at sports, kind-hearted, warm, opens to persuasion and not to force.  She is used to protecting those who are weak which is why she is often regarded as a “heroic girl” by her schoolmates at the girls’ school that she studies at.  Xiao Mai is very stubborn.  Once she has a goal in sight, she will do everything she can to carry it out to the end.  Sometimes, she will show a bit of cleverness but it is her cleverness that will cause her downfall.

            Xiao Mai grows up from an ordinary family and has always believed that she is her parents’ biological daughter.  She never imagined that her real identity is actually the granddaughter of Huang Fu Xiong, the Chairman of Huang Fu Enterprise and that her real name is Huang Fu Shan!  Under her grandfather, Huang Fu Xiong’s arrangements, Xiao Mai moves into the Huang Fu mansion.  On one hand, she is not used to leaving the life that she has had with her parents.  On the other hand, she is feeling very uncomfortable with the new, constrained life as a rich princess.  As a result, time and again, she runs away from the Huang Fu home.

            Xiao Mai and Jin’s first meeting erupts into a huge argument.  Later, because of continuous misunderstandings, the barrier between the two of them grows even bigger.  From the beginning, Xiao Mai believes Jin to only be a snotty, rich guy who looks down on others.  Until one accidental opportunity, Xiao Mai discovers the gentle and considerate side that Jin hides behind his cold appearance.  Unknowingly, she falls in love with Jin and wants to use all her strength to help Jin break away from the control of the Huang Fu family.

            Male, 21 years old.  Calm, steady, doesn’t show any emotions on his face, and his appearance gives off the impression that he is a cold-blooded, ruthless rich guy.  However, in actuality, he is someone who is gentle, considerate and loving towards his younger brother.  Because Jin has seen too many false pretenses in which the upper class society snubs the poor and caters to the rich, he always puts on a face that shows indifference when he is in front of others.  He seems to have separated himself from everyone with a wall.  It is also for this reason that Xiao Mai’s simple, straightforward and crystal clear thoughts and personality particularly attracted his attention.

            Jin’s parents and Xiao Mai’s parents have a very sincere and close friendship.  The 4 of them all passed away in the same car accident the year that Jin was 8 years old.  After Huang Fu Xiong lost his only son, he adopted the two brothers, Jin and Lin.  He even wants to groom Jin into becoming the successor of the Enterprise.  In order to protect his young and innocent brother, Lin and also to repay Huang Fu Xiong for adopting them, Jin would accept all sorts of harsh trainings without any complaints.  He wants to live up to Huang Fu Xiong’s expectations but in a place deep within Jin’s heart, he has always hoped that he will be able to leave the circle of the Huang Fu family.  He wants to use his own strength to go and search for a place that belongs to him.

            Jin continuously plans secretly to break away from the control of the Huang Fu family.  However, his plan is completely thrown out of control after he falls in love with Xiao Mai.

            Male, 73 years old.  Chairman of Huang Fu Enterprise.  Has a stubborn personality, very controlling, is the standard character for being “a sly old fox.”  Has a dignified and imposing appearance, hard to get close to.  But in actuality, he has an extremely childish, willful, and playful side.  Ever since his only son, Huang Fu Zun, died from a car accident, Huang Fu Xiong has been extremely lonely.  As a result, when he finally finds his granddaughter, Xiao Mai, he will resort to all means to keep Xiao Mai by his side forever.  Instead, this brings about Xiao Mai’s resistance and opposition of him.

            After the death of his only son, in order to groom his successor for the future, he brought into the Huang Fu mansion the 4 most outstanding youngsters of the family clan and pledges to educate them with the best training there is.  Within the 4 possible candidates to be a successor, Huang Fu Xiong is particularly fond of the serious, responsible and outstanding Jin.  He even thinks of every way possible to get Jin and Xiao Mai together.  Unfortunately, he never imagined that his plan would backfire.

            Male, 21 years old.  Famous for being the playboy of the Huang Fu family.  He appears unruly, loiters around, ignorant and incompetent and always creating trouble.  In actuality, his capability is not any less than Jin’s.  In order to not be burdened with the huge responsibility of the Huang Fu Enterprise, Cai would always put on the appearance of loitering around and being the black sheep of the family in front of everyone.  Until later when Xiao Mai came up with a plan to expose his fake pretense.

            Cai has no intention whatsoever of competing with Jin for the position of being the successor of the Huang Fu Enterprise.  He only wants to relax and leisurely live his carefree life.  However, in the end, because he falls in love with Gong Shi Enterprise’s daughter, Gong Mo Li, he is faced with the huge problem of having to succeed two enterprises at the same time.

            Male, 18 years old.  Jin’s biological younger brother.  Because he has been under the protection of his elder brother Jin for a long time, he has a naïve and straightforward personality.  He is innocent and often has some behavior that causes others to not know whether to laugh or cry.

            The origin of Lin’s favorable impression of Xiao Mai comes from the childhood memories that Xiao Mai’s biological mother left him.  Even though he was really young at that time, he is still able to remember Xiao Mai’s mother’s smile.  As a result, the first time that Lin’s eyes fall on Xiao Mai, he is deeply attracted to her by her smile.

            Male, 18 years old.  Cai’s biological younger brother.  He appears to be shy and keeps to himself but in actuality, he has a bit of an ambitious heart.  Because all the women that appear by his side are trying to get some sort of advantage from him, he deliberately declares to the public that he has a “women phobia.”  This way, it will prevent those women who harbor evil intentions to get close to him.

            At first, Ying really didn’t have any good impression for Xiao Mai and believed her to be those types of women that love money.  However after he sees all the things that Xiao Mai does for Jin with his own eyes, Nan Feng Ying’s impression of Xiao Mai completely changes.

            Female, 18 years old.  Rich daughter of Gong Shi Enterprise.  Because she grows up from a wealthy family, it couldn’t be helped that she would have the arrogance and manner of a rich girl.  However she still has her straightforward and frank personality.  She is very stubborn when it comes to love.  Mo Li fell in love with Nan Feng Cai after only seeing him once when she was 7 years old.  However, because she was just an ugly little duckling at that time, in order to make herself into a perfect match with Nan Feng Cai, she has continuously disciplined herself for many years.  She patiently waits for the opportunity when she would be able to leave a deep impression on Nan Feng Cai.

            Female, 18 years old.  Xiao Mai’s best friend whom she grew up with.  She has a gentle, shy personality.  Likes to do housework and has great cooking skills.  The lovable and cute Xiao Mi has always been bullied by mischievous male classmates since young.  Every time, it is Xiao Mai who comes out to save her.

(portrayed by Bo Xue Liang) –

            Male, 45 years old.  Xiao Mai’s foster father.  A typical blue collar worker.  Is a lowly manager in one of the companies that are related to Huang Fu Enterprise.  He has an honest personality and looks after his family.  Doesn’t talk much and in the office, he would often be bullied around and mysteriously always takes all the blames.

            Female, 43 years old.  Xiao Mai’s foster mother.  She is a kindergarten teacher and works in the Preschool that is under Huang Fu Enterprise.  She has a gentle and compassionate personality but she is a bit of a scatterbrain and often forgets things left and right.  She really loves children but an illness causes her to be unable to have any children.  Even though Xiao Mai is not her biological child, but she sill loves and cherishes her with true sincerity and regards Xiao Mai as her own child.

(portrayed by Xia Jing Ting) –

            Male, 50 years old.  Japanese, Huang Fu Xiong’s special assistant.  He is cautious, attentive and good at observing everything that happens around him.  His speech is indirect and persuasive and he is very knowledgeable in the ways of survival within the Huang Fu mansion.  As a result, when he meets Xiao Mai, who he can’t handle, he would calmly push her towards Nan Feng Jin and have him take care of her.  Yi Sen knows everything that goes on within the Huang Fu mansion.  No matter what happens, he would be the first to arrive at the scene.  His presence whenever he is called and his mysterious appearance and disappearance cause rumors to be spread around by everyone within the mansion.  Yi Sen is actually the descendant of Iga Ninjas.
