This
is a young love story that combines romance, determination and adventure
to depict a group of youngsters who have ideals and ambitions. In order to
pursue their ideals and love, they exhaust their emotions and nature to
produce a speed and tempo that belongs to them. And within this whole
process of searching, no matter how dangerous and how many setbacks there
are, their inner spirit would gradually mature and have no regrets towards
their youth.
A cold, arrogant, lonely son of a rich family, Bai Lin
and a caretaker's son, Yu Si, who doesn't confine himself to the little
things in life, their status, background and character are different. Yet
because they both love bicycling, it has connected the two of them
together.
Even though Bai Lin's family is prosperous, yet he is
extremely lacking in family warmth; his father Zhong Qiang is a
businessman, hardly comes home to eat dinner, and his mother, Wen Li is
like a real life baby doll, hiding in the shadow of his father. Everyday,
she only knows shopping, beauty, banquets, and have no knowledge about
housework whatsoever.
Instead, it was Yu Si's mother, Li Qiu who takes care
of Bai Lin and left her own son, Yu Si, to grow up on his own.
Fortunately, Yu Si's character is easy-going, independent, and he is a
good cook. He takes over the responsibility of helping his mother to take
care of his younger sister, Mei He and his father, Lao Zhang. Li Qiu's
family members each have their own characteristic and cuteness. They live
together naturally and as if they are friends. This kind of warm
atmosphere is what Bai Lin is envious of.
Everything that Bai En, Bai Lin's brother who is 5
years older than him, does, he does it better than Bai Lin himself. Thus,
Bai En becomes their father's favorite child causing Bai Lin to feel
extremely inferior since he was young. Bai En loves bicycle riding and he
would often bring Bai Lin along with him to practice causing Bai Lin, who
can't obtain his parents' love and care to feel a bit of warmth somewhat.
Unexpectedly, during an accident one time, Bai En died trying to save Bai
Lin. From then on, their family sank into an even colder atmosphere. Bai
En's death brought on a big shock to Wen Li, who was originally nervous
and sensitive to things. However, she wasn't willing to face reality and
instead, sank into her own illusions and fantasies. Her mentality was
sometimes good and sometimes bad, causing Zhong Qiang to be quite worried
and bothered. Bai Lin, on the other hand, kept on blaming himself and also
made up his mind to never ride a bicycle again causing Li Qiu and Yu Si to
sigh that it was such a pity.
Lan Lan comes from a rich family, but she is sweet and
lovely, doesn't have any arrogance in her character at all. She would even
keep a low profile and not let her classmates know that she comes from a
rich family. Losing her mother at a young age, she and her father, Lan
Tian, takes care of one another; their father/daughter relationship is
very deep.
Under her friend, An Qi's persuasion, Lan Lan joined
the Bicycle Society and even helps in enrolling new students into the
society. However, for some predestined reason, she and Bai Lin came into
conflict with each other. The two of them came into contact with one
another for the first time and started a whole succession of continuous
misunderstandings. Yet it was because of this that caused fireworks to
sparkle up between them. The thing that can't be helped is that both their
personalities are just as stubborn. Each time, it is because of their own
individual persistence which causes them to bump into each other and walk
pass.
Coincidentally, Lan Lan just happens to be Yu Si's high
school classmate and also the object of Yu Si's secret crush for a long
time. Meeting up once again causes Yu Si to determine to pursue Lan Lan
and also request that his good buddies, Xiao Tong and Ah Ni help him out
too. Xiao Tong and Ah Ni grew up together since they were young. Xiao
Tong's character is valiant like that of a tomboy, Ah Ni is wooden and shy
and he is also an expert on computers. The two of them are Yu Si's college
classmate and also a group of good buddies that goes riding together. It's
just that Xiao Tong has a secret crush on Yu Si for a long time but she
just hides it and doesn't dare to declare her feelings.
Bai Lin and his classmate, Xiu Yi differs in their #1,
#2 status in entering into the school through an exam. For that reason,
they are called "The two scholars". Xiu Yi lost his dependence on people
and since he was young, he had to live in other people's home. With
regards to Bai Lin who grew up in a prosperous family background, he has a
hard to explain feeling, plus the fact that he always seems to lose to Bai
Lin with respect to schoolwork, becoming "always #2". Bai Lin's
unrestrained revelation of his arrogance causes Xiu Yi to develop a
disequilibrium in his heart. Therefore, on the surface, he seems to treat
Bai Lin as a good friend, yet privately, he feels total resentment toward
Bai Lin. He who fell in love with Lan Lan at first sight, swore that he
would win Bai Lin on the front of love.
One bicycle competition, closed the distance between
Bai Lin and Lan Lan. Their conflicts gradually subdued and they came to an
understanding. Even though they both have feelings for each other, but
because of their own stubbornness and persistence, it has always kept the
two of them apart; and Yu Si intently gave out all of his love with no
regret, causing Lan Lan to be quite moved. When Bai Lin and Yu Si, who are
good buddies and yet they have a master/servant relationship, finds out
that they both fell in love with the same person, what kind of reaction
would they both have? The three of their relationship is already crowded
enough, but then Xiu Yi and Xiao Tong also sticks their foot into it. And
in order to earn money, the news about Xiu Yi being "taken care of" by an
older woman, breaks out, causing things to get even more complicated.
One incident hasn't settled down yet and another rises
up. Bai Lin's father, Zhong Qiang, because his business failed, plus the
factor with the family matter, which causes him to be unable to stand this
immense pressure anymore, he ran away in the company of his assistant, Yu
Ming. Leaving behind a big pile of mess for Bai Lin to take over. And Wen
Li, who was able to slowly but with difficulty, gained back some of her
mentality, because of this incident with her husband, she closes up her
mind and heart once again. How will the 19 year old Bai Lin face this
tremendous change? And how will Bai Lin and Lan Lan extend their hands out
to each other? And will Xiu Yi take this opportunity to bring down Bai Lin
when Bai Lin is at his lowest point in life?
This group of young people with very different
personalities gets their fate connected together owing to bicycles. The
change in Bai Lin's family also added the variable of complicated disputes
into their relationships. Would Bai Lin and Lan Lan see their true
feelings for each other through these troubled and difficult times? Yu
Si's deep love for Lan Lan is not extinguishable, so will it cause Lan Lan
to have a change in heart? Xiu Yi, who is constantly stirring up trouble,
what kind of impacts would he bring onto the three of them? Regardless of
whether they use to be enemies or friends, within the world of bicycles,
facing the challenge of the speed of wind, it allows them to once again
bring forth their passion, flaming youth, to chase and seek the maximum
speed.
